CBS Austin interviewed me after the Pflugerville City Council delayed a vote on a proposed new contract with Flock Safety. The report focuses on resident concerns about privacy, data sharing, and whether Pflugerville should continue using the company's license plate reader cameras.
I told CBS Austin that community feedback has been clear: many residents are asking the City to remove the cameras. A central concern is that agencies outside Pflugerville may be able to access data collected here. Before Council makes a decision, residents deserve a clear account of who can search that data, what safeguards actually apply, and whether those rules can be enforced.
